The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in the Kingdom of Denmark celebrated on Thursday evening the 27th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne of Morocco during an official reception held in Copenhagen.

The event was hosted by Her Excellency Fatima El Ayadi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Denmark, and attended by ambassadors, heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions accredited to Denmark, representatives of official institutions, political, cultural and media figures, as well as members of the Moroccan community.

The ceremony began with the Moroccan national anthem, followed by a speech by Ambassador El Ayadi, who welcomed the guests and said that Throne Day is a national occasion reflecting the strong historical bond between the Moroccan Throne and the Moroccan people. She noted that it also highlights Morocco’s continued progress in stability and comprehensive development under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

The Ambassador said that Morocco continues to implement major development and reform projects while strengthening its regional and international position through a strategic vision based on sustainable development, modern infrastructure, economic growth, and stronger partnerships with countries around the world.

She also highlighted Morocco’s major economic projects, stressing the importance of the country’s economic achievements in boosting Moroccan exports to European and global markets. She referred to the Dakhla Atlantic Port project, launched under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, describing it as a strategic project that will reinforce Morocco’s role as an economic and logistics hub connecting Africa with Europe and the rest of the world, while creating new opportunities for investment, development, and trade.

The Ambassador also praised the achievements of the Moroccan national football team, saying that the success of the Atlas Lions in international competitions has been a source of pride for all Moroccans and has strengthened Morocco’s image as a country with talented young people capable of competing at the highest international level.

Speaking about regional issues, Ambassador El Ayadi reaffirmed that the Palestinian cause remains a priority for the Kingdom of Morocco through the role of His Majesty King Mohammed VI as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee. She said Morocco continues to support all efforts aimed at achieving a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in accordance with international legitimacy, ensuring the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and contributing to peace and stability in the region.

The Ambassador also underlined the strong relations between Morocco and Denmark, noting the steady development of bilateral cooperation in political, economic, and cultural fields. She expressed her hope for further expanding cooperation and partnership between the two countries.

She praised the Moroccan community in Denmark, describing its members as the best ambassadors for their homeland through their achievements, successful integration into Danish society, commitment to their national identity, and contribution to strengthening friendship between the Moroccan and Danish peoples.

The reception witnessed the attendance of diplomats, media representatives, and distinguished guests, who exchanged congratulations on the occasion in an atmosphere reflecting Morocco’s respected position within the diplomatic community and the active role of its embassy in Copenhagen in promoting bilateral relations and dialogue with Danish society.

The celebration also showcased Morocco’s rich cultural heritage through a selection of traditional Moroccan dishes and sweets, which were warmly appreciated by the guests and reflected the richness of Moroccan cuisine and the country’s well-known hospitality.

The reception concluded in a friendly atmosphere, with guests exchanging greetings and emphasizing that the Throne Day celebration is an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Denmark, promote dialogue between peoples, and reaffirm Morocco’s important role on both the regional and international levels.
