On August 29th, at the Civic Hall of OLDOFREDI CASTLE, ISEO, I had the honor of participating in an extraordinary concert entitled „CLASSICAL EMOTIONS” – BACH AND BETTHOVEN (SONATAS FOR VIOLIN AND PIANO), featuring: Anca Vasile Caraman (violin) and Davide Macaluso (piano).
Anca Vasile Caraman, of Romanian origin, represents excellence in the world of classical music, recognized for her interpretive versatility and technical rigor.
She regularly performs as a soloist with major symphony orchestras and is active in various chamber music groups, from piano duos to string quartets. She has held prominent roles in various Italian and European orchestras, and has toured major international theaters and auditoriums. She also teaches violin at Italian conservatories and regularly holds master classes for young talents in Italy and abroad.
DAVIDE MACALUSO – pianist, composer and improviser from Palermo, distinguished on the international music scene with the first complete recording of his works for piano. Principal Piano Professor at the Giacomo Puccini Conservatory in Gallarate. He has collaborated on major projects dedicated to the organ, celesta, and contemporary music, performing in Italy and abroad.
From the first note, the air in the room was filled with vibrant energy. It wasn’t just a technical performance, but a true dialogue of the soul. The piano laid the foundation, an ocean of warm, deep harmonies over which the violin glided with poignant grace.
With my eyes closed, it was impossible to distinguish where the instrument ended and the artist began. My fingers flew over the keys with ferocious precision and disarming sensitivity, pursuing and sustaining the violin’s voice in a continuous play of tensions and resolutions. In the most intense moments, the rhythm of my heart began to match the music.
When the last note dissolved into the darkness, suspended for a second that seemed like an eternity, The room erupted. A roar of applause broke the spell, but the feeling of wonder remained: the certainty of having witnessed not just a concert, but a moment of rare, pure beauty!!!
