In 2017, at the festival in Sarzana, Italy, tenor Alin Stoica won the Luciano Pavarotti Special Prize, being presented to him by none other than Pavarotti’s wife, Nicoletta Mantovani, becoming the first and—to date—only Romanian to hold this prestigious award, alongside two other special awards—the „Votta la Voce” Audience Award and the Second Prize.
The awards ceremony can be viewed in the YouTube clip.
